Images 1-4:  Playa creatures
Part of an exploration of sculptures within extreme environments. Experimental work created during a residency at Playa in the Oregon desert, situated in a unique environment in the high desert. The paper sculptures reside on the cracked earth resembling remnants of forgotten creatures.  The mylar (plastic) sculpture explores and swims in the seasonal saline lake, filled with mud and inhospitable water for most living creatures. This work was made in July, when the lake is typically dried into cracked earth during the summer months.

Images 5-6:  Blood Moon
A string constellation and cut paper installation created while in residency at the Vermont Studio Center.  Vermont's incredibly clear skies enabled me to witness the Blood Moon.  This installation reflects on that experience, as well as webs of familial connections and entanglement.
