Tunnel book Installation (layers of cut paper, light, colored gels)

The next few fleeting moments are ours is a large-scale, enterable tunnel-book installation constructed with large sheets of hand-cut white paper suspended from the ceiling, layered throughout a hallway gallery space illuminated in colored light.

The work becomes a surrogate landscape that transports viewers to imagined worlds; its biomorphic forms evoke a sense of calm. Cut-outs generate negative shapes that bodies and light pass through, projecting shadows, repeating shapes, and reiterating abstract forms and spaces throughout the installation.

This installation entails physical navigation within the delicate materials. Visitors become part of the environment and increasingly aware of their symbiotic relationships with other beings. This work provides a space to slow down for deepened engagement, facilitating a sense of presence and helping us connect more fully to our bodies and surroundings.
